He is also President of the Missouri Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association, (AMTA), a registered Karuna Reiki Master and is certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork - the highest professional credential in the field. Kirk specializes in custom designed massage sessions for relaxation and/or pain relief, and is a premier provider of on-site massage therapy programs for conventions, special events and the workplace.
Kirk is a national trainer for the Massage Emergency Response Team, (MERT), and also the former State Director for the Missouri Sports Massage Team, (MSMT). MERT is dedicated to providing massage to emergency responders at disaster sites, and Kirk received the Disaster Service Award from the Virginia Department of Health for his efforts at the Pentagon following the terrorist’s attacks of September 11, 2001. The MSMT received the 1998 and 2003 AMTA National Award for Most Outstanding Sports Massage Team, and is involved with many local and statewide events such as the MS 150 Bike Ride and the Kansas City Marathon. They work with athletes to help improve their performance, decrease their risk of injury and speed up their recovery time.
As part of his massage practice, Kirk enjoys speaking to groups about massage therapy and related health topics whenever possible. He is currently a MO state licensed mentor and an approved provider of continuing education for the NCBTMB - teaching massage skills to both today's and tomorrow’s therapists. Kirk's goal is to empower others by sharing his knowledge and skills for the purpose of enhancing their ability to become more self-aware and more personally involved in their own wellness. “It’s the difference between working on a client and working with a client.”
