LEARNING

Heartland Institute of Touch Therapies, (HITT), is the educational branch of Touchwork of Weston, and was founded in 2005 to promote and present quality education for and about the massage profession.  Courses range from informative lunch-and-learn seminars for the general public to highly advanced trainings for professional healthcare providers.  Our passion for massage therapy and related healthcare issues combined with our down-to-earth teaching style creates a stellar environment for learning.

Unlike so many other presenters who only share information specific to their own trademarked technique, HITT specializes in strategy-based education.  Instead of giving therapists just one more 'recipe', we prefer to explore what, how and why things work.  Our goal is to give therapists the knowledge and wisedom needed to create their own personal strategies for successfully serving their clients.

Both Kirk and Julie hold degrees in education, and Kirk is an approved provider of continuing education for the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.  He has taught at national conventions and various state conferences within the massage industry, has been featured in national trade publications, and has presented seminars for numerous corporations and civic groups.  His areas of expertise include Ethics, Marketing, Clinical and Event Sports Massage, On-Site Chair Massage, Reiki, Body Mechanics/Self Care, and Massage for Emergency Responders. Following is a list of some of his upcoming classes:

Friday, 6.17.11: Setting and Managing Roles and Boundaries, 3 CE hours, PNMT National Colloquium, Champaign, IL

Friday, 10.20.11:  Setting and Managing Roles and Boundaries, 4 CE hours, AMTA National Convention,   Portland, OR

Saturday, 10.21.11: Setting and Managing Roles and Boundaries, 4 CE hours, AMTA National Convention, Portland, OR

We are also proud and honored to continue our partnership with Precision Neuromuscular Therapy Seminars, bringing one of the top educational opportunities in the nation to Kansas City.  To learn more about PNMT, or to register for a class, visit them at www.nmtmidwest.com.

MASSAGE THERAPY TRAINING PROGRAM

Heartland Institute of Touch Therapies: A 600+ hour massage therapy training program that is approved by the state of Missouri and the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.  Classes are small, (generally 3-4 students), so students get the personal attention needed, and this certificate program meets all the requirements to sit for the NCBTMB exam and become licensed in Missouri.
